Miura Kaigan is the sandy pocket beach on the Tokyo Bay side of the Miura Peninsula, in the city of Miura at the southern tip of Kanagawa. The protected shoreline of the Miura district runs for about 2.7 km along Kaneda Bay between the fishing ports of Kitashitaura and Kaneda, divided near the middle by the small point of Bokkezaki. When the Keikyu line reached Miurakaigan Station in 1966 the beach became one of the busiest in the Tokyo area: around a hundred beach houses once lined the sand, special trains ran from the city, and by 1999 the beach drew over a million visitors a year. Numbers fell sharply after 2020, and since 2025 the city itself has run the 350-metre bathing area. The live cam, streamed by WITH SEA, looks over the coast road and the beach towards the water, with the Boso Peninsula on the horizon. Facing east into the mouth of Tokyo Bay, Miura Kaigan is usually sheltered from big swell; swimmers and paddlers use it, and windsurfers come out when a fresh breeze blows.
