The curving bay between Peniche and Baleal island, and the other half of the Peniche equation: when southerly winds blow onshore at Supertubos, this north-facing side is clean. Gentle sandy peaks make the middle of the bay one of Portugal's main learning spots all year, while the reefs of Lagide and the island's point hold bigger autumn swells. Those reefs are shallow and for experienced surfers only.
