Kallithea is a stretch of the north-east coast of Rhodes, a municipal unit just south of Rhodes town that also takes in the resort of Faliraki. This webcam belongs to the Elysium Resort & Spa, which stands on the shore road between the two, and looks over the hotel's own beach: a wide band of sand and fine shingle with rows of umbrellas, the water beyond and, by day, Rhodes town and the hills of the Turkish coast across the sea. The coast here faces east, so the prevailing northerly and north-westerly winds of the Aegean blow along the shore or slightly offshore, and the sea in front is often calmer than on the west coast of the island, where Ialyssos and Theologos catch the full breeze. A little further north are the rocky coves around the old Kallithea Springs spa.
