Žusterna (Giusterna in Italian) is the seafront district just west of the old town of Koper, on Slovenia's short stretch of Adriatic coast in Istria. Its long promenade has a public bathing area, the Žusterna beach, with concrete terraces, a rocky shore and stretches of gravel, and an aquapark with seawater pools beside it. The live webcam belongs to KJD BUM, a water-sports club on this shore: in the frame its windsurf boards and rigs lie on the slipway in the foreground, with the bay behind and, across the water, the port of Koper with its cranes. The beach faces north over the Bay of Koper, part of the Gulf of Trieste, so north-westerly and westerly sea breezes come onshore, while the cold bora from the north-east blows across the bay in gusts. That is why the club rigs up here when a breeze fills in.
