L'Ayguade is a beach on the eastern shore of Hyères, between the port of Hyères and the old salt pans of Les Salins, on the opposite side of the Giens peninsula from the Almanarre. It is a long, narrow beach of sand and fine gravel facing east across the bay towards the Îles d'Hyères, Porquerolles and Port-Cros, with a seaside village, campsites and the Hyères airport just inland. Its east-facing shore changes the picture compared with the Almanarre: the westerly and north-westerly Mistral, the wind that makes the Almanarre famous, blows offshore here and leaves the water flat close in, while easterly and south-easterly winds blow onshore and bring chop. Kites are sometimes seen over the bay, and the long, shallow shore is also used for paddleboarding, though riders should know the local rules and the offshore risk on Mistral days. In summer it is mainly a family beach with lifeguards. Sea temperature is roughly 13 °C in February and 23 to 24 °C in August. The webcam is a Windy timelapse over the beach and the bay at L'Ayguade.
