A west-facing beach on Sligo Bay below Knocknarea, open to every Atlantic swell and one of the surf hubs of the north-west. The beach break works best on smaller days with an easterly wind; on big swells strong rips and a steep, rocky shore make it serious. Swimming is not allowed, schools run lessons all year, and winter brings size and cold water.
