The tidal pass between the west end of Galveston Island and Follet's Island, one of the upper Texas coast's best-known kite spots. Riders use the shallow flats on the bay side and the Gulf beach in the prevailing south-easterly, which is most reliable from spring to early summer. The current through the pass itself is notoriously strong and has drowned swimmers, so stay well clear of the channel.
