Brela is a village on the Makarska Riviera in Dalmatia, about 15 km north-west of Makarska, squeezed between the Biokovo mountain and the Adriatic. It is known for its white pebble beaches lined with pine trees, and its symbol is Kamen Brela, the Brela Stone, a small rock island off Punta Rata, which Forbes listed in 2004 among the world's ten most beautiful beaches and Lonely Planet ranked eleventh in the world in 2024. The name comes from the springs that bubble up from the sea floor close to the shore, fed by water from Biokovo; they make swirls on the surface and cold patches in the water. This live cam, streamed by World Live Cams, shows Lučica beach in the village: a curve of pale pebbles, sunbeds, clear water and the coast running away to the south-east. The shore faces south-west, so the cold north-easterly bora blows offshore here and flattens the sea.
