Ustronie Morskie, once the German resort of Henkenhagen, is a holiday village on the Pomeranian Bay, some 14 km north-east of Kołobrzeg. The railway from Koszalin to Kołobrzeg, opened in 1899, brought easy access from Szczecin and Berlin, and it soon became one of the better-known bathing places of its day. The summer bathing area covers 2,100 metres of shoreline and held a Blue Flag in 2006, 2007 and from 2010 to 2013. There is a seaside park and a small fishing harbour as well. This webcam is run by the Umili Ustronie Park beach resort, and it looks between tall trees towards the sand, with wooden groynes marching out into the water. Those groynes are worth noting if you plan to swim or paddle: keep clear of them when the sea is running. The shore faces north-north-west, so wind from that quarter piles up short Baltic waves, while south winds leave it smoother. Summer is the high season.
