The wide rocky bay below the old fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay on the North Yorkshire coast, with long flat scars of rock exposed at low tide. It faces east onto the North Sea and needs a northerly or easterly swell; westerly winds are offshore. The reef breaks here work around mid to high tide. Cold water and big tides; know where you are paddling.
