Habo Ljung is a neighbourhood on the shore of Lomma Bay in Skåne, just north of the mouth of the River Höje å, on the Swedish side of the Öresund. Lomma has a long, shallow sandy beach, and this panorama webcam is run by the Lomma Vindsurfingklubb, the local windsurfing club. Its live overlay is what makes it stand out: wind speed readings and water information sit on top of the picture, so a rider can see both the conditions and the numbers at once. The frame takes in a mown green, a low bank of sand and the wide flat water, with Denmark somewhere over the horizon. Facing west and shallow for a long way out, the bay suits sailors looking for flat water when the wind blows from the land or along the shore, while a stiff westerly builds a short chop. Check the local club's rules before launching. Swimmers will enjoy the shallows in high summer, and Malmö is close by.
