Skrea Strand is the main beach of Falkenberg, the Halland town at the mouth of the River Ätran that earned its reputation as a seaside resort during the 20th century. It lies east of the river, within reach of the town centre, with its own shop, the Klitterbadet indoor pool and holiday homes behind the sand. The live camera, run by the local energy company Falkenberg Energi from its premises near the shore, looks down over the rocks and swimming area towards the long pier, with white seafront buildings on the far side of the bay. In summer that view fills with bathers. The beach faces south-west onto the Kattegat, so a wind from that side brings a chop onto the sand. Falkenberg is on the E6 motorway and the West Coast railway, around 45 km from Halmstad, making this an easy stop. Use the sea temperature and forecast on this page to judge a dip.
