Dahme is a small seaside resort at the eastern tip of the Wagrien peninsula in Schleswig-Holstein, where the coast of Lübeck Bay turns north towards Fehmarn. Its beach is a long strip of fine sand facing east over the Baltic, with a pier and the Dahmeshöved lighthouse marking the headland just north of the village. The live webcam looks from the shore over the beach and the open water. Because the beach faces east, westerly winds, the most common on the Baltic, blow offshore here and keep the sea close to the beach smooth and calm; easterly winds blow onshore and build a short chop, and a strong offshore wind is the one to be careful with when using inflatables or paddleboards. The water stays shallow for some distance, which, together with the lifeguard stations in summer, makes Dahme popular with families with small children. The village is quieter than the big resorts further south, with campsites, holiday flats and a promenade along the dyke behind the beach.
