Broad Haven is a seaside village on St Brides Bay in Pembrokeshire, not to be confused with Broad Haven South near Bosherston on the county's south coast. Its wide, west-facing sandy beach is one of the most popular family beaches in the national park, with shallow water, rock pools at either end and interesting rock folds in the cliffs to the north. It also picks up the Atlantic swell that rolls into St Brides Bay, giving gentle, fairly forgiving beach-break waves that suit beginners, bodyboarders and surf lessons; an easterly breeze cleans them up, while a fresh westerly blows straight onshore. On calm summer days the bay is good for paddleboarding and kayaking, and the coast path leads south over the headland to neighbouring Little Haven. The village has a car park, cafés, a few shops and a watersports shop on the seafront, which runs the live webcam on this page. Lifeguards patrol the beach in the summer holidays. Rips can form near the stream that crosses the sand and close to the rocks. The water in St Brides Bay reaches roughly 16 °C in late summer.
