A long sandy beach just south of Tofino, on the west coast of Vancouver Island, and the heart of Canada's surf scene. Open Pacific swell arrives all year, with beach-break peaks along the sand and a small island in the middle that shelters the north end. The water is cold, so a thick wetsuit is needed. Autumn and winter storms bring the biggest surf.
