Lisbon's city surf beach, a train ride from the centre, facing south across the mouth of the Tagus. It only wakes up when a big W or NW swell wraps into the estuary, mostly from October to March, and then produces fun, sometimes hollow peaks with the northerly winds offshore. Beginner-friendly on smaller days. Expect crowds, and keep off the rocks beside São Julião fort.
