A long palm-lined beach south of Mombasa, with a reef lagoon between the sand and the open ocean. The kaskazi blows from the north-east from December to March, and the stronger kusi from the south-east from June to September. The lagoon is flat at mid to high tide, and low tide leaves it very shallow. Watch for sea urchins.
