A 40 km tidal lagoon between the desert and the Atlantic, and one of the most reliable kite spots on the planet. The trade wind blows from the north or north-east on most days of the year, often 20 knots or more. The water is shallow, flat and warm enough for a shorty much of the year. Camps line the western shore, and low tide exposes wide sandbanks.
