The main town beach at Torres, on the northern coast of Rio Grande do Sul, between the basalt cliffs of the Morro do Farol and the Guarita park. An open beach break, it picks up south to east swell, most reliably in autumn and winter, and is offshore in a westerly. Torres is a surf centre of southern Brazil, and the beach is packed in January and February.
