Wadaura is a coastal village in the Wada district of Minamiboso, on the ocean side of southern Boso, Chiba. The JR Uchibo Line stops at Wadaura Station, and on the shore road stands the roadside station Michi-no-Eki Wadaura WA-O!, a modern timber building with a shop and restaurant. Minamiboso is known for whaling as well as for surfing, flowers and loquats; its climate is warm and maritime because the Kuroshio Current flows close to the coast. Unlike the bay beaches on the city's western side, Wadaura looks south-east onto the open ocean and takes its swell. This live cam is part of the Minamiboso live camera network and looks out from the coast towards the sea; its time stamp and the site name mboso-etoko.jp appear in the corner. At night only the lights of the coast can be seen, so check it after sunrise. Pair the picture with our surf outlook and wind: big swells from typhoons are common in late summer and autumn.
