A small sandy bay over the Port Hills from Christchurch, beyond Sumner at the northern edge of Banks Peninsula, and one of the city's favourite surf spots. It faces east and picks up north-east to east swell, as well as southerly swell that wraps around the coast, and westerly winds are offshore. Sand-bottom peaks with rocks at both ends; busy on good weekends.
