Porto's surf beach, tucked south of the Leixões harbour breakwater. The breakwater softens big NW swells, so it stays rideable when the open coast closes out and it is one of the busiest learner beaches in northern Portugal. Easterly winds are offshore, and autumn and winter bring the most waves. The Atlantic here is cold, so wear a good wetsuit; water quality can drop after heavy rain.
