A levee-side launch on the Sacramento River in the Delta, an hour east of San Francisco. In summer, heat inland pulls the sea breeze through the Carquinez Strait, and it blows hard and westerly almost every afternoon. The river is wide, the current and the swell it raises against the wind are real, and the water can be murky. Mostly for intermediate and advanced riders.
