The busiest of Jacksonville's beaches, a straight stretch of sand on north-east Florida's Atlantic coast, with sandbar peaks along its length and around the pier. It works on north-east to east swell from nor'easters and passing hurricanes, with westerly winds offshore. Autumn and winter bring the most swell, behind cold fronts; summer is often small. Crowded around the pier on good days.
