Koksijde-Bad is the seaside quarter of a municipality that also takes in Oostduinkerke, Sint-Idesbald and inland Wulpen. The town runs three official beach cams, and this one looks across broad flat sand, with fresh ripple patterns after each tide, to the waves along the North Sea beyond. The stream can move, and it sometimes turns towards the promenade and its high apartment blocks. Holiday boats such as beach catamarans have been photographed drawn up on this shore, and the gentle gradient means the water is a long walk away at low tide. The municipality also hosts the Duinencross, a stop on the cyclo-cross World Cup. Facing north-west, the sand is fully open to wind from that quarter. Families will want to watch the tide and the wind more than the waves. Sint-Idesbald lies just west, Oostduinkerke to the east.
