Sheltered under the Massif de la Clape, which bends the tramontane and makes it gustier here than at Gruissan a few kilometres south — stronger in the squalls, lighter in the lulls. Shallow sand and a wide beach make it an easy launch, and it is usually the quieter of the two. Best in spring and autumn when the tramontane runs for days at a time.
