Arillas is a small resort on the north-west coast of Corfu, in the Municipality of Northern Corfu, where a long sandy beach curves between two headlands below green hills and olive groves. The bay opens to the west, onto the Ionian Sea, and on a clear day the Diapontia Islands, the westernmost points of Greece, sit on the horizon offshore: Mathraki is the closest, with Othoni and Ereikoussa further out. The live webcam is run by the village's own website, arillas.com, and looks along the beach road and the shoreline, which shows how rough the water is, how crowded the sand looks and whether the sun is out, before you get in the car. Because the beach faces open water to the west, it is exposed to wind and swell from that side, while an east wind blows offshore and leaves the bay flat. This page puts the webcam next to a wind and wave forecast and the sea temperature for Arillas, which helps when choosing between the west coast and the more sheltered east side of the island.
