One of the long sandy beaches of Jæren, south of Stavanger, where Norwegian surfing grew up. The coast faces west into the North Sea with nothing to block the swell, so waves are common from autumn to spring. Windy onshore days bring out kiters and windsurfers, while surfers wait for light easterly winds. The dunes behind are protected, so park in the marked areas.
