A barrier island north-east of Charleston, with sandbar peaks off Front Beach and along the length of the island. It needs a north-east to south-east swell, usually from a nor'easter or a hurricane passing offshore, and is cleanest in a north-westerly wind. The waves are mostly small and friendly, good for learning and longboarding, and the autumn hurricane season brings the best days.
