Spot info
- Town: Lorne, Victoria

- Sports: Surf
- Best wind directions: WNWSW
Lorne is a seaside town on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, about 140 kilometres south-west of Melbourne, set where the Otway Ranges come down to Loutit Bay. The main beach faces east into the bay, which shelters it from much of the Southern Ocean swell, so on most days it is a calm, family-friendly beach with a surf club, a long foreshore park and the town's shops directly behind it. The surf at Lorne is mostly found at the point: on a solid south-west swell, a right-hand reef wave, Lorne Point, breaks along the rocks at the northern side of the Erskine River mouth and is popular with longboarders and intermediate surfers when it is working. Further out the bay is more exposed. Westerly winds blow offshore, which makes Lorne a useful option when the swell is big and the open beaches west of Torquay are too large or blown out. The Lorne Pier to Pub ocean swim, held each January, is one of the largest open-water swims in the world. Water temperatures are cool, around 13 to 19 °C. The Lorne surf report below shows today's swell, wind and water temperature.
