Jhongjiao Bay is a sandy bay on the north coast of Taiwan in Jinshan District, New Taipei, between the fishing harbours of Jinshan and the cape at Yehliu further east. It belongs to the scenic area of the north coast and Guanyinshan, and the area administration runs this 4K live cam from its new visitor building at the back of the beach; the curved white building appears in the camera's own thumbnail. Next to it stands the Jhongjiao Bay Surf and SUP Center, and photographs on Wikimedia Commons show the long sand beach, the rocky points at either end and the hills of Jinshan behind. The bay faces north-east, straight into the north-east monsoon that blows from autumn to spring, and it is one of the most popular surf beaches near Taipei: beginners use the gentler inside waves while experienced surfers ride the peaks off the points when the winter swell builds. In summer the sea is usually flatter, and the beach is used for swimming and paddleboarding. Jinshan is also known for its hot springs and its old street.
